Brian Scheetz and
Michael Grace of the #1 Mercyhurst men's lacrosse team were honored by the East Coast Conference (ECC) this week. Scheetz was named conference player of the week, while Grace took home the goalkeeper of the week award.
The Lakers won, 7-6, at #3 Dowling on March 24 to remain unbeaten and stay atop the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) poll.
Kyle Kallay scored with 3:30 left in the fourth quarter to pull out a dramatic road win.
In the match, Scheetz led the team with two goals and two assists. The junior twice tied the contest in the second half and then assisted on Kallay's game-winner. Grace made a career-high 14 saves to record his biggest victory of the season.
In 2012, Scheetz is the third Laker to win the ECC honor, joining
Deven Alves (March 5) and
